Investing in Photovoltaic companies

There are plenty of listed companies out there that produce, develop and integrate solar products. What better was to invest in solar than to actually own the companies developing the technology. I have listed here a few companies and summaries of invest-able companies. We can divide them up into producers, integrators and installers. Producers

First Solar has been perhaps the darling of the PV world. Leading the way in innovative products and technology. FS is a commonly held stock in many peoples portfolio including mine. You can find the company at FirstSolar.com and the ticker symbol is FSLR listen on the American exchange: NASDAQ.

Evergreen Solar is another commonly held PV stock. It’s an American based company that designs and produces PV panels. I have a few shares in this company as well.

Yingli Green Energy Hold. Co. Ltd is a widely held company. YGE a leading solar energy company and one of the world’s largest vertically integrated photovoltaic manufacturers. We develop, manufacture and sell photovoltaic modules to a wide range of markets.  You can trade and buy shares in this company on the US markets: YGE.

GT Solar International is a global market leader in the process design and equipment essential for the production of polysilicon and multi-crystalline ingots, the key materials used to produce solar cells and panels. GT Solar can be found on the NASDAQ as SOLR.

Integrators

Romag produces a number of products that can be used in integrated architecture. PowerGlaz® offers a range of products for building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV), and standard PV modules for mounting onto building or for installation into solar fields.
